Casino game guides

18+ only. Casino games involve the risk of losing money. These pages explain general rules; they are not betting systems or operator recommendations.

CasinoGauge’s UK casino game guides explain common rules, terms and payout structures. Even familiar game names can refer to different titles, versions or table formats. Start with the exact game information panel, then use a general guide to understand the terms it shows.

CasinoGauge publishes source-led explainers on game rules and the information readers can check for themselves. We do not claim to have tested the operator configurations described in these guides, and we do not rank games by payout or promise an outcome.

Individual slot guides

For information on a specific title, read our text-only Starburst slot guide and Book of Dead guide. They summarise provider-published rules and what to check in the exact game information panel; neither is an operator review or a prediction of results.

Use general rules with the exact game in front of you

What should I check in a game’s information panel?

Confirm the full title and version, then check the applicable rules, how a result is determined, any special features or side bets, the payout wording and any listed RTP or likelihood information. Note the table format and commission terms where relevant. Do not assume a general guide describes every game with the same name.

Why can a casino table differ from a general guide?

Providers and operators can offer different game formats, configurations and table terms. A familiar label such as baccarat does not by itself identify a specific format, while online slots can have different feature rules or RTP settings. The exact title’s own help panel takes precedence for its configuration.

For remote gambling in Great Britain, Gambling Commission RTS 3 says applicable rules should be easy to find before a customer commits to gamble, and information about how the game works, chances and payouts should be available as relevant. This page helps explain common terms; it does not audit an individual game or certify an operator. Read the Gambling Commission’s RTS 3.

If you choose to gamble, set a limit you can afford to lose. Gambling should not be used to make money or recover losses. See our guide to safer-gambling controls.
